logo identity process

Logo Identity Process for Hyundai-a car company
Disclaimer: This is a part of student's work done at C.N.college of Fine arts.
1. Firstly, I have listed down keywords for the concerned company on the basis of the type of company, the work it does, its characteristics, etc. For this logo the keywords are:
Stability, Speed, Status, Luxury, Power.
On the basis of this keywords, a few rough symbols are sketched.

2. Stage 2 has more details added to the basic sketches.

3.Here out of all the rough symbols, two which explain the logo fully are enlarged and more details are added to final symbol.
The idea behind the symbol is to show stability alongwith motion. Alphabet 'H' is modified in the form of a circle to show speed and motion. At the same time 'H' comes out very strongly suggesting stability. The arcs surrounding 'H' shows the control on speed.

4.Now the fonts are selected suggesting the keywords. Here the fonts are specially created to show speed with stability.

5. The colour selection is also very important. Here the navy blue colour indicates reliability, safety, consistency, commitment, vibrancy, etc. It is also a corporate colour suggesting trustworthiness.
The bluish grey colour is sober and worldly. It also gives an impression of metal.

Analysing the ad:
It is difficult to make people understand what a dyslexic person feels like or is going through. This ad is an attempt to show the confusions in the mind of a dyslexic. The confusions are shown in the form of a complicated maze and in the form of jumbled alphabets in the brain. The illustration is emphasised more in order to explain the gravity of the problem. The layout of the poster is kept simple in order to highlight the main problem.

The picture is very symbolic as it is of a guard outside the gates of a 'pol' (narrow housing lanes), protecting the beautiful pol.

Heritage Walk of Ahmedabad-1

This student work is a live project undertaken at MICA.

The posters were made to promote the heritage walk of Ahmedabad in the old city and were even published in the form of calendars.

Analysing the ad:

The objective was to show the blend of cultures as well as the different forms of art and architecture in order to attract people to the old city. The images in the background of the poster are that of a temple and a mosque, showing the diversity of religions. The colour scheme used represents the old and vintage, clearly representing the 'old' city of Ahmedabad.

Social Ad-2

The objective of the poster: to make people aware that cutting trees disrupts many lives.

Analysing the ad:
A tree is a home for many birds. This same thought is taken further to make an interesting design to show number of birds living in a tree. These birds are visible only on a closer look
The green background represents nature and trees.
The words are arranged to form the trunk of the tree. Grunge fonts are used to show the rough texture of the bark.
